Aspius aspius

The asp (Aspius aspius) is a predatory freshwater fish from the carp family, characterized by a slender, elongated body and a large head. It can reach lengths of up to 70 cm, although smaller individuals are more common. Its coloration is silvery with a darker back, aiding in camouflage within its natural habitat. The asp is a schooling fish, often swimming in groups, which facilitates hunting smaller fish and insects.
