The Wels Catfish (Silurus glanis) is one of the largest freshwater fish in Europe, reaching lengths of up to 3 meters and weights exceeding 100 kilograms. It has an elongated body, a flat head, and a large mouth equipped with barbels that help it locate prey in murky waters. The Wels Catfish mainly inhabits large rivers, lakes, and reservoirs with slow currents and rich bottom environments where it can find ample food.
